Salam.
I just wanted to talk about this past few days of my life as a
MUSLIM medical student in Ireland...
Yesterday, I helped in a booth by the
Galway Islamic Community (ISOC).The booth is to help people of the community to know a little bit about the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and about islam.
I helped for awhile..distributing the pamphlet and all. I took some of the pamphlet and walk around the corridor. It was my first time giving away pamphlets. What it felt like??? Well, it felt like... this pamphlet contains information about Islam..and I really HOPE that everyone would get a chance to know Islam. To know the TRUTH about islam. To tell them that its more than just wearing a Hijab and more than just a forbidden to 'drink'... More than just our restrains.....
I hold out the pamphlet to the students. When some students took it from my hand, i really hope and deep down .. and I make du'a that Allah would give then light and open up their hearts. But, when the opposite happens...when they didn't TAKE the pamphlet... it was like... Islam is being put aside. It makes my heart broke.
I know that the pamplet is just a small matter. It certainly made me think.. How did the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) feels when his
OWN people refuses him and altogether curses him and throws him away from the community.
Well, one more important thing happened that day... As i was giving out my LAST pamphlet... a girl, that was walking behind the man that i gave my last pamphlet to, look at me...and then at my hand. I looked at her...and ask.. oh... 'Do you want one?' and surprisingly...she said "Whats it about?' and then i explained to her... and she said, "YES, i would love to." It was the BEST FEELING EVER! i actually took her to the booth and give her one English Quran translation. It was great.....
Great experience that day...
I'll tell you more on what happens in our Memorial Day in the Chapel for the Cadavers we've been working on. The memorial day was superb, i would say.
